"...don't think!...feel!..." "...don't focus on the finger...or you will miss all the heavenly glory." Bruce Lee
I see bboyin' or when I'm bboyin...I see it as going thru loop holes....and if you don't connect the right way....u crash and burn! For us...it's no longer moving or movement ...it's feeling... and what I mean is that, the music guides our feeling and half the time we do not know what happened or where we are....we just know we did what we felt and if it didn't meet anyones expectations...so...be....it! I'm telling you b...it's actually unexplainable sometimes. You know what it is to go to a jam or party and hear some dope tunes that hits you like in ya soul/heart....and u like...(to your self)....'dam...do any of you here feel that or feel what I feel? To the point that your mind and body is so filled with an overwhelming sense that you about to shed a tear...(that ain't no p*ssy shht either my nigga)....haha... some may never understand.
can't remember what verse it was, but in bible it says,... "the more you know the more sorrow you will have"
meaning the more experience.. the more doors you have opened within yourself to receive visual or spiritual actions...and... you might not want to experience all that.
I don't wanna get religous or philosophical on you just sharing...
This is not to you .... it was actually to someone I battled....
"...You know what the difference is between me and you!?...You do what u practice...I do what I feel!!!" Abstrak
Just thought I'd share that too... Aight bro...hope all is well and thanks for coming thru once again... Peace and Respect

b4 entering any competitions...you should just hit cyphas...re-kreate urself in circles then hit up the comps if thats what u wanna do... freestylin' and sets both have their advantages and disadvantages...
Freestylin' advantage: creative on the spot.... change with the music.... be with the music
Freestylin' disadvantage: might repeat....
Sets advantage: u know exactly what you're goin to do...
Sets disadvantage: might not go with the music... might not look ill wit it either...
If you're good at freestlyin'....you can basically set it off on the freestyle until you need to release your sets or arsenals

KREATE
however, before you dance just by going with feeling u have to know what you are doing also..you gotta be neat, tight, GOTTA HAVE FORM ! there isnt nothing worst then going down and having no idea what your doing and freestyling your Sh*t on the to other people it looks like ur confuse on the floor (not a GOOD LQQks) i mean dont get me wrong its not a RULE its just how i was taught from by my oldschool MAsters from bklyn...but hey man whatever works for u..this is just my 2 cents on this ..-)

Yo AB you the man dog. There is not much more I can add to what AB is blessing you with man. All I can say is that my experience about this art has alot to do with the battle for freedom. This is the freest art form ("HIP HOP") known to mankind yet. The freedom to create what ever you want, however you want and realizing that there are no mistakes. You have It's poets and It's Graff artists, (MC's, WRITERS). Then you have the Martial art of our art form witch is B-Boyizm. The only difference to me is that your fighting to survive in a spiritual way as oppose to the flesh. So in all actuality in a battle, your soul is battling another soul and the one that will prevail (not win) will be the soul that is the most free. Music in itself is already freeing and then the power to manipulate and make a beat within beats was created The DJ witch defines the fact that perfection is the father of mastery but the son of mistake. (That's just one of my sayings). So make as many mistakes as you can but learn from them and apply. That's why you can't limit yourself to this art. It's all relevant. There are no limits. We are all prisoners to something in our lives, prisoners to thought, foundations, physics, laws and society. Most of us are outcasts, from another realm trying to be excepted, respected or even looked at as normal. The fact of the matter is that this dance was created from and because of poverty. Destruction breeds new life. (Thats another one of my little quotes, not Bruce's lol) but the bottom line is that this dance was, I would say evolutionized (not created) by rebels. Kids in the Bronx that were trapped, with no way out. Hence finding loop holes finding away to escape. A way out and I say evolutionized because the kids out of the Bronx in the 70's or 80's were not the first people to ever b-boy. This art form is to eternal and spiritual to try and set history's or boundaries on who or were or how it was created. It's an ancestral and cultural expression that began in Africa. People have been b-boying for centuries and didn't even no what they were doing because they were so free that they never even cared to name it. It is just finally now being recognized by the media and everyone else and so they've placed MANY names on our art form so that the masses are able to relate, recognize and understand the dance so that they don't fear it and so that it would be easier to sell. There is a fifth element to "HIP HOP" that no one cares to learn and it's the knowledge of HIP HOP, witch involves the history and spirituality of these art forms.. The fact is, is that if your not up on your cultures history of what you do, it's going to be harder to understand and bring it out of yourself correctly. The problem with many B-boy's today or actually the ones I would call break dancers is that they have no respect for the art. They have no knowledge of it's history nor do they appreciate the music. They're just to caught up on the illusion of fame and break for the cool crowd pleasing moves, witch is OK, if thats what makes them happy but they'll never be REAL B-BOYS PERIOD! Unless they change there mentality and seek the truth, not only the truth in the art form but the truth about life. B-Boyizm isn't just a dance with moves or sets. It's a way of life. As is Hip Hop. I Guess I did have alot to add lol.Oh yeah and it's Don't (concentrate) on the finger or you will miss all that heavenly glory Don't CONCENTRATE. On just that finger. See it all. Peace. Incredible (B)ronx-BOY Josh Skill Methodz.

well put by both parties...javascript:add(%22%20:-/%22).. my response is actually directed toward Josh's statement.... I recently had the opportunity to listen to a presentation on "TRUTH" by a professor at UC Berkeley last week... I cannot go into detail as it was an in depth presentation but the moral of the story was this... for example: no matter how long someone were to believe that the planet was flat, no matter how many astrologist's would be convinced of it at the time... the truth of the matter is the that the planet is not flat, and in fact round... and everything that had been built on the belief that is was, flat is deemed false...and no matter how long someone would run from the fact that it is not flat, no matter how many times they convince themselves it is flat, eventually, no matter what, the truth will catch up to them one day.... This theory I have applied to an example of science, but it totally parallels your example of bboying...and in many ways, this dance is a pursuit of truth, that may not make too much sense to some people reading this but I think u know what I'm sayin... the pursuit of truth, in any area of your life, is absolute. No doubt Moshe. That's real. It is definitely absolute but at the same time, even knowledge itself sets a foundation for you to be able to understand, read, write, move and relate accordingly. So that we may learn more and continue to fill our hard drives and although there are many languages in which we can use to relate with one another that are absolute, they all set a natural foundation for themselves so that we may continue to learn and grow mentally physically and spiritually. If we don't open our hearts and care to learn and respect the foundation of these languages, books, readings writings or moves (expressions), we will never be able to open our minds or continue to grow or evolve our selves into the new beings that will eventually be set free from even the thought of question itself. As the round planet earth itself is set on it's foundation in space and spins on it's access. I believe alot of truth lies within finding your own access (foundation) in what works best for you. Except everything and subtract whatever doesn't suit the way you wanna feel. It definitely is a search for truth as well. Without a doubt.
